Learning Goal: Participants will develop an understanding of classroom design, through the lens of UDL, that provides students with access and agency by:
Reflecting on the learning environment
Identifying barriers in the learning environment
Exploring design ideas (physical spaces and/or routines) to minimize barriers in the learning environment
October Learning Series: Social Emotional Learning through the Lens of UDL
Session 1: Universally Designing Social Emotional Learning to Support Learner Variability

In this session, we will explore how UDL can support the development of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making to create learning opportunities, plan for variability and support expert learning.
Session 2: Through the Lens of UDL, Utilizing CASEL’s SEL Three Signature Practices

CASEL’s 3 Signature Practices to integrate Social Emotional Learning across all learning environments are: Welcoming/Inclusion Activities, Engaging Strategies and Optimistic Closure.
In this webinar session, we will share simple strategies to honor what is already being done, explore ways to increase integration of these practices, and design resources you can use the next day.
