Math through the Lens of UDL

Monday, January 29, 2024 | 3:30 – 4:30 pm PT

In this universally designed webinar session, we will consider why math is “special” in terms of historical instruction practices and mindsets about the content area. We will revisit the general characteristics of a quality ‘UDL-ified goal’ and practice separating the math goals from the means.  We will examine lessons where the means is the goal and think about how we can still identify and focus on the underlying conceptual understanding that is required to enact a specific skill.

Join us as we explore how we can redesign our math lessons to help our students grapple with connected mathematical representations and express their mathematical understanding in a variety of ways.

Designing Physical Learning Environments through the Lens of UDL

Monday, September 25, 2023 | 3:30 – 4:30 pm PT

One of the core principles of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework is that Barriers are in the design, not the learner. To meet the unique needs of our variable learners, the UDL framework empowers educators to identify barriers in the methods, materials, assessment and learning environment and to design options to minimize those barriers. Join us for this free, one-hour webinar on "Designing Physical Learning Environments through the Lens of UDL”.
