Webinar: Designing Physical Learning Environments through the Lens of UDL
One of the core principles of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework is that Barriers are in the design, not the learner. To meet the unique needs of our variable learners, the UDL framework empowers educators to identify barriers in the methods, materials, assessment and learning environment and to design options to minimize those barriers.
Learning Goal: Participants will develop an understanding of classroom design, through the lens of UDL, that provides students with access and agency by:
Reflecting on the learning environment
Identifying barriers in the learning environment
Exploring design ideas (physical spaces and/or routines) to minimize barriers in the learning environment

Top Tips! for Designing Physical Learning Environments
When designing learning experiences, a designer can anticipate some predictable options that will minimize barriers in the materials, methods, assessment and environment that will support all learners towards the goals.
How might we make our materials, methods, assessment and materials more accessible for all learners?
